Three new restaurants are opening in the Quad Cities in place of the former Dock restaurant on the Missisippi Riverfront in Davenport.

The restaurants: III Forks Steakhouse, Cantina Laredo, and Black Oak Grill, are within a three-story mixed-use development that Todd Raufeisen has been working on for several years, according to the City of Davenport. They make up 68 percent of the building’s lease space.

“This is the smallest market they’ve entered, and the only one where they will have three of their concepts under one roof,” Raufeisen said. “They wouldn’t do this if they thought it would appeal to people in only Davenport or the Quad Cities. They will pull regionally.”

Raufeisen said the restaurants are expected to bring in diners from Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, Dubuque, Peoria, and other cities.

He added that although it was not easy to convince officials from Consolidated Restaurant Operations, which owns the restaurants, to invest in this market, the building plans and spot on the river was the selling point.

Construction on the building has not yet begun, but developers say it’s in sight.
