Well, I’m going back to school.

For the first time since 2008, I sat in a classroom setting… as a student, taking notes, listening to my teacher’s every word, raising my hand to ask questions.

Here are some of the things I wrote down:

They do NOT speak English!

For every “NO,” you need a “YES.”

Pick a “PAYCHECK“… like hotdogs.

Any guesses where I’m at?

Yep. Obedience School.

Zuno and I (and Zach, when he isn’t too busy with Grad School) are officially enrolled in a 6-Month Training Class at Contented Canines! So… that means every Monday at 6pm (until August… Yikes.), Zuno and I will be going through an intensive-learning, mentally-challenging, family-bonding program that will test our love, relationship, and minds… all at once.

No, not really. We’ll probably just run around a lot (Zuno running and me running after him), Zuno will sniff some butts, and he’ll get LOTS of treats for it. It’s basically a Puppy PlayPen.

Either way, I am very excited. Zuno is more than 8-Months-Old now (Wow. That went by fast!) and already has “sit” and “stay” down, but we are looking forward to learning how to walk better (…and run! Half the reason we got a dog was so I could run with him along the beautiful Mississippi River when it’s warm out… if it ever gets warm out – JAMES.), how to “drop it” (We love playing with him, but it’s turning more into a game of circling the dining room table 30 times or until Zuno gets tired.), and how to just be an all-around awesome dog.

It would also be great if he could learn how to do this, but I don’t think that’s going to happen:

Ha! Thankfully, there are businesses that will actually do that for you. One of our WQAD Producers’ Moms actually has a business of her own called Call of Doodie (Isn’t that a great name?). I plan to call them the SECOND all this snow melts away.

The really neat thing about Zuno getting his Masters in Dog Awesomeness is that I will get to share our experiences with you all from Day 1! It will be lots of fun and I promise to share all of the guaranteed hilarious things that happen… to Zuno or to other dogs, because – let’s be honest – Zuno is going to be Valedictorian. Duh.

OH MY GOSH – I’m not even joking when I say that as I wrote that last sentence, Zuno farted right on my lap. Okay, so maybe #2 in his Class (no pun intended).

COMING UP on #TheSharpSide (I feel like I’m writing a tease in one of our newscasts!) – I think I’m going to need to address the whole Brian Williams Fiasco. It’s been slowly, but surely filling up my mind and I think it might be good to just start to write all my thoughts down. I also haven’t written a #WorkinWeekends post since my first, so it’s due. Do you have any thoughts or questions about this topic? If so, please comment below – I’d love to hear what you have to say because I know there are a lot of opinions out there.
