Kevin McKee scores in U.S. Sled Hockey team victory

A Quad City native helped bring the U.S. Sled Hockey team to victory in the 2015 World Sled Hockey Challenge.

The U.S. team went up against Russia Saturday, February 7 and defeated them 2-1, according to USAHockey.com. Kevin McHee from Davenport was part of that game.

Russia got the first goal of the game with just a few minutes left in the first period.  Davenport-native Kevin McKee tied it up with a goal halfway through the second period.

USAHockey reported that the U.S. played offensively in the last period, ultimately sending the game into overtime at 1-1.

Within the first minute of overtime, Josh Pauls scored the U.S.’ second goal which won them the game.

This is the second time in three years the U.S. has won this challenge.
