Barber turns haircut into punishment for misbehaving kids

A barber in Atlanta, Georgia offers a special for parents who are okay with using a haircut as discipline for smart-alecky kids.

Russell Fredrick and his team offer free “Benjamin Button Special” haircuts, three days a week, to parents dealing with kids who want to “act grown.”

“The cut involves shaving hair off the child’s crown until he begins to resemble a balding senior citizen, inviting that unique brand of adolescent humiliation that can only come from teasing classmates and unwanted attention,” said a report from The Washington Post. They reported parents were interested in the haircuts. Fredrick used the haircut-as-discipline on his own 12-year-old son last fall, and at least one other parent has taken him up on the offer.

“So you wana act grown…well now you can look grown too,” is the text that accompanies photos that show the haircut on the A1 Kutz Instagram page.
