Pre-recorded threats called in to four Davenport school buildings

Bomb threats were phoned in, via pre-recorded messages, to four facilities in the Davenport Community School District.

Bomb threats were phoned in, via pre-recorded messages, to four facilities in the Davenport Community School District.

The calls were made at about noon Friday, January 30, 2015. District spokeswoman Dawn Saul said police were called and were sweeping the buildings, but there were no evacuations or lockdowns in place. Parents were notified via phone messages from the district’s auto-dial messaging system.

“Beginning at noon today the Davenport Community School District received four bomb threats via pre-recorded phone calls,” the message to parents said.  “The Davenport Police Department is onsite. All buildings are being swept as a precaution.   No buildings are on lockdown.”

Saul confirmed one of the buildings affected was the administration center, but she did not immediately identify the other affected buildings, according to a statement from the City of Davenport.
