A four-month old baby died at the hospital where she was being treated for severe head trauma.
The baby, Marleen Jimenez died Saturday, January 24, 2015 around 10:30 a.m., according to a statement from Iowa Department of Public Safety. Her father, 20-year-old Oscar Jimenez remained in custody for child endangerment.
Jimenez was arrested and charged for one felony count of “multiple acts of child endangerment” on Tuesday, January 20, the day after his daughter’s injuries were reported.
Online court records on Wednesday, January 28 showed that Jimenez was still being held on that charge in the Louisa County Jail in lieu $250,000 bond.
He last appeared in court on January 23, where he was assigned a public defender, according to the online court records.
Jimenez was scheduled to appear in court again on January 30.
