Believing it was neglected and abused, neighbors in Tacoma, Washington admitted to taking a dog out of its own backyard.

Autumn Niesz-Ramos admitted to taking Kiki the lab-mix, according to a report by Q13 Fox News.

"The dog was clearly starving and in really bad shape so we got a group of us and go over there," Niesz-Ramos said, according to the report.

Niesz-Ramos said the dog was so weak she could barely stand and was shaking because she was cold.

Kiki was reportedly dropped off at the Humane Society Monday, January 12, 2015, according to Animal Control.

Construction workers who had been working at the yard Kiki lived in said they saw four people take Kiki.

"I turn around and I see four people," Keith No said reported Q13 Fox News. "As they saw me walking up to them, they actually snatched the dog out, cut the chain and walked off."

Saying she didn't want to wait around for Animal Control to take action, Niesz-Ramos said she wanted to see the dog get help.

"I don't think I stole her," she said. "I think I saved her."

Q13 Fox News reported that Kiki was no longer at the shelter she was taken to and that her owner likely picked her up.

According to Animal Control, in order to take Kiki from her home would be to either have a warrant or if they believe she was being abused.
