Davenport residents said they were pleased with the city's streets on Tuesday, January 6, 2014. There were problems on the Centennial and I-74 Bridge Tuesday morning, but there were no major problems to report of, on Davenport's city streets.

The downtown area had been plowed well before 7 a.m. Tuesday. Just a day before, the Quad City area was hit with its first major snowfall of the winter season. A spokesperson with Davenport Public Works says they have 30 snowplows out on the streets currently. The drivers are working twelve hour shifts for the next day. Residents told us Tuesday, they were pleased with how the streets looked.

"I think they did a good job of putting down that liquid salt first before it got bad because it could have been a lot worse than this," Davenport resident  Sam Sandoval said.

The city's snow emergency ended at noon Tuesday. That means drivers will be able to park on posted snow routes again.
