Five people faced charges after a man was robbed at knife point as he sat in a vehicle in Dixon, Illinois.
Police said the five suspects “conspired to commit” the robbery before it happened.
The victim called 911, and told police he was sitting in his vehicle when three people robbed him at knife point in the 700 block of West 2nd Street just before 8:30 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2014.
When police arrived, they set up a perimeter in the area when they reportedly saw two people running in the 400 block of West 2nd Street.
The first arrest happened hours later, when police arrested 23-year-old Brian Galor of Dixon, at the Circle K store at North Galena Avenue and East Everett Street at about 4:20 a.m. Tuesday, December 30.
Five minutes later, they arrested 21-year-old William Bankhead, of Mt. Morris, Illinois and 22-year-old Devin Williams at the apartment Williams shared with Galor.
Just before 5 a.m. they arrested 26-year-old Shawn Beets, who had no permanent address, in the 1700 block of Factory Street in Dixon.
The fifth suspect, 19-year-old Jordan Brake of Mt. Morris, was arrested at the Galor-Williams apartment at about 9 a.m.
Brake was charged with felony vehicular invasion. The other four suspects were also charged with vehicular invasion and with two counts each of armed robbery. Police said none of the suspects could post bond, and they remained held in the Lee County Jail.
