The Chicago Bears let two of their major influences go after completing a 5-11 season in the NFL.

Chicago Bears’ general manager Phil Emery and head coach Marc Trestman were fired Monday, December 29, 2014.

After being let go, Emery publicly thanked Bears ownership, management, coaches, players, and fans for all the support, according to the Chicago Bears.

Emery had been the Bears’ general manager since 2012, the Chicago Bears reported.

Trestman had replaced Lovie Smith as coach in 2013.
