A local artist is sharing his interesting talent with young art lovers in the Quad Cities.

On Sunday, December 28th, 2014, L&D15 in downtown Davenport hosted a "Meet Your Maker" event. Glenn Boyles, from Davenport, met with a group of kids and helped them create different works of art using clay.

Boyles specializes in sci-fi ceramics and makes pieces like rocket ships, robots, UFOs, and even housewares.

"I usually make things out of a more heavier duty clay," he explained. "I make science fiction lamps and they are fairly large. They're kiln fire ceramics, so this is a much simpler way for the kids to produce something and they can produce it in a half an hour."

L&D15 holds the "Meet Your Maker" events every other month. The shop features clothing, accessories, and art pieces by local and international designers.
