Rush is on for last-minute holiday shoppers

If you haven’t quite finished — or even started — your Christmas shopping, it turns out you’re in good company.

If you haven't quite finished -- or even started -- your Christmas shopping, it turns out you're in good company.

According to ShopperTrak, three of the top ten sales days of 2014 should occur during the week of Christmas. Monday, December 22, Tuesday, December 23, and Friday, December 26, are expected to be the fourth, tenth and sixth largest sales days of the year, respectively.

Rush is on for last-minute holiday shoppers

On Monday, the J.C. Penney at NorthPark Mall was busy with last-minute shoppers like Kathy Huff, who was picking up a present for her grandson and found a little something for herself, too.

"It's alright today. You can't tell by looking at the parking lot, but it's been okay. Everybody's been very friendly, very helpful," said Huff.

Downstairs, Troy Gipple said he doesn't usually wait until the last minute.

"Not usually. I just need a couple stocking stuffers, things like that," said Gipple. "Today, just small things like earrings or a necklace, or... I better not give too much away!"

Outside the mall, stores like Best Buy were also crowded with shoppers.

"Busy, yeah, packed," said Jake Blake.

ShopperTrak has predicted that Super Saturday, or December 20, will be the number one sales day this year for the first time in a decade.

According to the company's Mid-Season Holiday Report, "ShopperTrak expects close to $10 billion in sales on that day alone and anticipates the total season to reach $276 billion this year— 3.8% better than 2013."
