Preliminary autopsy results showed the deaths of two people found in a hotel in Coralville, Iowa appeared to be unintentional.

Hotel staff found the bodies of 44-year-old Penny Herman and 41-year-old John Tromba, of  Port St. Lucie, Florida, in a room at the Suburban Inn Extended Stay Hotel just after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 9, 2014, according to Coralville Police Chief Barry Bedford.

“Information obtained thus far indicates the two had been in the area for several months related to a local reconstruction project,” Bedford said.  “Autopsies of the individuals were performed on December 10, 2014 and no trauma to either individual was found.”

“While the investigation is continuing, the deaths appear to be non-intentional at this time,” Bedford said in a statement released Thursday, December 11.

Police said it could take several weeks to get results of toxicology reports and a final cause of death from the medical examiner’s office.
