If Christmas spirit is measured in time spent streaming holiday tunes, Iowa makes the grade.

That’s according to Chicago-based Accuradio.com music streaming service. They reach about a million unique listeners every month.

Accuradio.com ranked all 50 states and the District of Columbia, based on the number of hours their listeners spent listening to holiday music between November 2013 and November 2014.

Topping the list?  Washington, D.C.

“(M)aybe it is no surprise that the center of politics has more holiday cheer than any other place in the U.S.,” their list post said.

Iowa ranked in the top ten on the “nice” list, taking the #9 spot.

“(I)n Iowa, their state song “Song of Iowa” by S.H.M. Byers is set to the traditional melody of “O, Tannenbaum,” the post said.

Illinois was smack in the middle of the list at #26.

“The Garden State is a shoo-in for lumps of coal this Christmas,” as New Jersey was ranked as the state with the least Christmas spirit on their list.

Accuradio ranked Bing Crosby’s “It’s Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas,” as the most popular Christmas song.  Chris Brown’s “This Christmas” was listed as the least-liked holiday song in the U.S.
