More than three months after a bait shop owner died of a gunshot wound to the head, an Iowa man is charged in connection with that murder.
Darrell Teeter, 64, was found dead at his Main Street Bait Shop, where he also lived, in Eldon, Iowa, on August 11, 2014. His body was reportedly discovered after he failed to show up for a medical appointment.
An autopsy later showed Teeter died from a gunshot wound to the head, and his death was ruled a homicide. The shop had reportedly been ransacked.
A 24-year-old Eldon man was arrested in connection with Teeter’s death.
Ricky Davidson was charged with first-degree murder and first-degree burglary when he was arrested at about 1 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2014.
Jail records showed Davidson was held in the Wapello County Jail in lieu of $525,000 cash-only bond.
Court records showed Davidson had filed a petition November 18, 2014 to legally change his name.
