The parade steps off at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014. This year's parade features 18 balloons, including a new "Felix the Cat" character balloon.
Among the volunteers was a group from the North Scott Rotary Club, many of them helping inflate the balloons along Third Street in Davenport for the first time.
"It's pretty impressive seeing all these huge balloons getting filled up and all the work it takes to do it," said Josh Cobie.
Mel Drucker has been the Festival of Trees parade manager for seven years now, and says although the balloons are a highlight, there's a lot more to look forward to.
"I think people expect a very joyful parade, they expect a lot of exciting balloons, they expect some really peppy marching bands and a lot of other nice marching units as well," said Drucker.
Parade Route:
- Starts at Pershing Avenue heading west down 3rd Street
- Turns south on Scott Street
- Turns east on 2nd Street
- Ends at 2nd and Iowa Streets.
