Teen charged after several burglaries on Y Camp Road in Burlington

A 17-year-old faced four counts of burglary in connection with several break-ins on one night in rural Burlington, Iowa.

A 17-year-old faced four counts of burglary in connection with several break-ins on one night in rural Burlington, Iowa.

The teen, who is from West Burlington, was charged Monday, November 17, 2014, with four counts of third-degree burglary according to a statement from the Des Moines County Sheriff’s Office.

The charges were connected to motor vehicle burglaries reported Sunday morning, November 16, in the 13100 and 13200 blocks of Y Camp Road.

Police were also investigating reports in that same area, on that same morning, of an unsuccessful attempted garage burglary, another motor vehicle burglary in which nothing was taken and a motor vehicle burglary in which loose change was reported missing.  It was not yet clear if those incidents were directly connected to those for which charges were filed.

The teen was charged as a juvenile, the statement said.
