After nearly 11 months of being away from their families, the Army Reserve's 339th Military Police Company returned home November 18, 2014.

The unit left in early January, staying in Texas for a month before heading to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Approximately 90 soldiers were greeted at the Quad City International Airport Tuesday afternoon by the Patriot Guard Riders who escorted them to the Isle of Capri where a welcome home ceremony was held.

"I'm really excited waiting for him to come through that door," said Jodi Krause, whose son was returning home.

"It was amazing. It was amazing. It was one of the best feelings. It's the hardest part about being gone, family. Like they said, we wouldn't be able to do it without them," said Specialist Brandon Coover, after hugging his mom.

Since September 11, 2001, the 339th Military Police Company has been deployed four times. They have been deployed twice to Iraq and twice to Cuba.
