UPDATE: A Davenport man has died after being hit by an SUV Sunday night while trying to cross Washington Street.
Captain Dale Sievert told News 8 that they learned Monday night that Neil Lister had succumbed to the injuries he suffered Sunday night and that the crash is still under investigation.
ORIGINAL STORY: A man suffered life-threatening injuries when he was hit by an SUV as he tried to cross a street in Davenport, Iowa.
The man was crossing Washington Street north of Locust Street when he was hit by a northbound GMC SUV just after midnight Sunday, November 9, 2014, according to a statement from Captain Dale Sievert with the Davenport Police Department.
Sievert’s statement said the man sustained serious life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized locally before being transferred to a hospital in Iowa City because of the severity of his injuries.
The man was later identifies as 42-year-old Neil Lister of Davenport.
The SUV driver was identified as a 41-year-old man from Davenport.
