Memorial services for former Illinois 17th District Congressman Lane Evans have been set.
Evans died Wednesday evening, November 5, 2014. He was 63, and had battled Parkinson’s disease since his diagnosis in 2006.
Evans was first elected in 1982. He previously served in the U.S. Marine Corps and he was a Vietnam War-era veteran.
Visitation was set for noon to 6 p.m. two days, Saturday and Sunday, November 8 and 9, 2014. Visitation will be at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory at 6601 38th Avenue in Moline.
Funeral services for Lane Evans were planned for 10 a.m. Monday, November 10, 2014 at Sacred Heart Church, 1307 17th Avenue in Moline. Internment, with full military honors, will follow at noon at the Rock Island National Cemetery.
