Events:

Bettendorf:  Veterans Day Ceremony Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the band shell/pavilion at Veteran’s Memorial Park, 1645 23rd Street in Bettendorf.  Speakers will include Col. David Banian, Chief of Staff of the Join Munitions Command; Mayor Bob Gallagher; and commanders of the VFW, American Legion and Vietnam Veterans of America.  Light refreshments will follow the ceremony.

Blue Grass: Veterans Day Run/Walk, Saturday, November 8, 2014.  Starts at American Legion Post 711.  5K starts at 8 a.mm., Kids Run at 9:30 a.m., family Run/Walk at 10 and Battle Buddy Run at 11.  Click here for sign-up form –> Blue Grass Veterans Day Run form

Burlington: Veterans Day Ceremony at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Memorial Auditorium on Washington Street in Burlington.  Post 10102 and Ladies Auxiliary to conduct the ceremony.  Missing man table ceremony to follow at nearby Post 10102 followed by a luncheon which is free of charge to veterans and $5 for visitors.

Clinton:  Veterans Convention Regional Meeting , starts at 9 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014 8 Nov 2014, 9:00 am, in the Oakwood Grand Ballroom at Wild Rose Casino & Resort, 777 Wild Rose Drive.  Invited speakers are LTG Michael Tucker, Commanding General, First United States Army; John Rowan, National President of Vietnam Veterans of America; John Margowski, Director of Region 6. Dance at 7:30 pm featuring “Illusions of Elvis” by Junior Talley. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner options available on-site.

Davenport:  Veterans Day Parade at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2014.  Route starts at 4th and Western streets; travels south to 3rd Street, east to Main Street, south to 2nd Street and west to the Scott County Courthouse.  Parade will include veteran’s groups, antique cars, military vehicles, ROTC, patriotic tractors and more.  Get more info, click here.

Davenport:  Jane’s Place Social Club Veterans Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 1035 West Kimberly Road.

Dixon, Illinois:  Veterans Day program at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 668 Veterans Parkway in Dixon.

East Moline:  Veterans Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 11 at 829 16th Avenue in East Moline.

Galva:  Galva Veterans Day Service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 11 at Galva Veterans Park, Route 17 and Route 34 in the middle of downtown Galva.

Maquoketa:  VFW Post 3633 Veterans Day Program at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Maquoketa Middle School, 200 E. Locust Street.  Flag presentation, music and speakers.  Veterans invited to school cafeteria for coffee and donuts after the ceremony.

Milan:  American Legion Veterans Day Commemoration, 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the American Legion, 515 West First Avenue.

Moline:  American Legion Post 246 Veterans Day Celebration at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the post, 1721 7th Street in Moline.

Orion:  Veterans Day observance event at 1 p.m. Sunday, November 9, 2014 at Orion Central Park, 1018 4th Street.

Rock Island Arsenal:  Veterans Day Ceremony, including wreath placement, honor salute, echo salute and taps at main flagpole at Rock Island National Cemetery Tuesday, November 11, 2014 starting at 1 p.m.  Keynote speaker Lt. Gen. Michael Tucker, Commanding General, First Army.

Silvis:  Hero Street Monument ceremony 10 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2014.  Veterans Day Ceremony at Hero Street Memorial Park at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 11.
