The Jaded Gypsy Tattoo Parlor is making a comeback, one fundraiser at a time.
The shop was severely damaged by the Rock Island fire just over a month ago. The fire originally started in the vacant building next door that used to house the Mississippi Cafe.
However, when the fire grew, fire crews were forced to demolish both the vacant building and part of the Jaded Gypsy Tattoo parlor.
Right now, artwork from the original shop is on display at the ARTery Gallery in Rock Island, and all proceeds go directly towards Jaded Gypsy Tattoo.
"Just to get out from underneath the building as it is, we're looking at estimates of about $110 thousand," said Dan Banowski, the owner of Jaded Gypsy Tattoo.
The art pieces speak to what he loves, featuring work of skulls, pop culture, and other mediums.
"Basically it's just trying to combine my own personal interest and loves," Banowski said.
The ARTery Gallery is located at 1629 2nd Avenue in the District of Rock Island.
