Republican incumbent Terry Branstad has won the Iowa gubernatorial race.
Four candidates were battling incumbent Terry Branstad for the Iowa governor’s seat and the Associated Press called the race just after the polls closed at 9 p.m. With 98% of precincts reporting, Branstad had 59% of the vote, 656,291 votes. Democratic candidate, Jack Hatch had 37%, 414,231 votes.
Just before 9:30 p.m., Hatch, delivered a concession speech to his supporters.
Branstad will be serving his sixth term as Iowa Governor.
