A Davenport, Iowa man has been accused of trying to entice someone he thought was a 15-year-old girl.
On Thursday, October 30, 2014 police arrested 30-year-old John Michael Riepe on a charge of enticing a minor, according to a statement from the Scott County Sheriff’s Department.
Riepe was accused of texting an undercover detective, who Riepe believed was a 15-year-old girl, for five weeks, said the statement.
Riepe allegedly made plans to meet with the girl "for the purposes of engaging in a sexual act," the statement said.
“When Riepe arrived at a predetermined location in Bettendorf… he was taken into custody without incident,” said the statement.
Jail records showed Riepe was held in the Scott County jail in lieu of $5,000 cash-only bond.
