While the owners and former owners battled it out in a lawsuit, a home in an upscale St. Louis suburb continued to sit, infested with thousands of spiders.
A family bought the home, located near a country club in Weldon Spring, Missouri, in 2008. They later discovered it was overrun by an estimated 5,000 brown recluse spiders according to CNN affiliate KMOV.
Depending on your sensitivity and how much venom is injected, a bite from a brown recluse spider can have serious health consequences.
“It’s not going to kill you, but it will make you wish you were dead,” said Jamel Sandidge from the University of Kansas.
The last buyer sued the previous owner of the home, claiming they were not informed of the spider problem.
Meanwhile, the house went into foreclosure and it remained infested with spiders.
