Boil order issued in Coal Valley

A boil order was issued for much of the northern part of the Village of Coal Valley after a pump went down at one of the wells there.

A boil order was issued for much of the northern part of the Village of Coal Valley after a pump went down at one of the wells there.

The boil order advisory was issued Monday afternoon, October 13, 2014.

Residents in the affected area are advised to boil water for five minutes before it is used for drinking, cooking or dishwashing.

The boil order area was from Niabi Zoo Road west to West 17th Street, from Route 6 south to about 3rd Avenue.  The boil order area included The Ridges and Whispering Hills subdivisions.

After repairs are made, water sample tests must indicate no dangerous contaminants before the boil order can be lifted.

Coal Valley officials hoped to have samples back to possibly lift the boil order by Wednesday, October 15.
