In an effort to bring awareness to homelessness, a group of people took a walk in their shoes.
Overnight from Friday, October 3 to Saturday, people took part in the Night at the Shelter SleepOut hosted by the Humility of Mary Shelter, Inc. at Modern Woodmen Park.
There was a “Build Your Own Shelter” contest that participants would use to sleep in. During the event there was music, games, food, and a movie shown on the Jumbo screen at Modern Woodmen Park. At the end of the event, there was breakfast and a “heartfelt closing ceremony.”
All costs to participate in the event went toward providing beds and other aid at the Humility Mary Shelter.
This was the third year the SleepOut has taken place.
