The identities were released of the four officers involved in a shooting that left a man dead in Davenport, Iowa.
Police said officers spent more than three hours negotiating with 54-year-old James Allen Cave, after someone called Monday evening, September 22, 2014, reporting Cave was armed and threatening to hurt himself at a home in the 2800 block of Fair Avenue.
Police said negotiations ended when Cave, who reportedly had a gun in his waistband and another in his hand, advanced toward officers. Police fired shots at Cave, and he was killed.
Two days after the incident, the department released the identities of the the four officers involved in the shooting. They are Corporal Seth Farley, and eight-year veteran of the department; Officer Nathan Kelling, a nine-year veteran of the department; Officer Bryan Grothus, a five-year veteran of the department and Officer Matthew Lovelady, a four-year veteran of the department.
A spokesman for the Davenport Police Department previously said the officers involved were placed on paid administrative leave pending an investigation by the Scott County Sheriff's Office and Iowa Department of Public Safety.
