The 29th Quad City Honor Flight was scheduled to leave for Washington D.C. at about 7:45 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, 2014. The flight suffered a short delay due to fog in the area.
22 World War Two and 68 Korean War Veterans are headed to see the memorials that are dedicated to their service. The day before, Iowa Governor Terry Branstad visited the vets at the Hy-Vee on East Kimberly Road in Davenport for their pre-flight dinner.
The vets showed up to the airport early on Thursday. Some got to the airport as early as 4:45 a.m. The flight is scheduled to return to the Quad City Airport around 10:15 p.m. Thursday.
