A Davenport woman will spend more than three years in prison for drug trafficking.

A Davenport woman will spend more than three years in prison for drug trafficking.

In June of 2013, a home associated with 39-year-old Leann Sue Perez and 44-year-old Jose Antonio Garcia was searched by police, according to a statement from U.S. Attorney Nicholas Kinefeldt. Inside agents found half of a kilogram of cocaine, which is roughly 1 pound, digital scales and packaging material.

“Perez possessed this cocaine and intended to distribute some or all of it to other persons,” said a spokesperson from the Department of Justice.

The statement said that before the search, Perez and Garcia got more cocaine and brought it to the Davenport area.

On September 11, 2014 Perez was sentenced to three years and four months in prison for possession with intent to distribute cocaine, the statement said. When she is released from prison she will have to serve three years of supervised release. In August, Garcia was sentenced to nine years in prison. He also will have to serve three years of supervised release once he gets out of prison. Both were ordered to pay $100 to the Crime Victims Fund.
