Man accused of selling cocaine near Rock Falls elementary school

A Sterling man is facing several charges related to selling cocaine and is accused of selling near a Rock Falls elementary school.

Sgt. Alex Chavira with the Sterling Police Department said 24-year-old Marcus D. Houston was taken into custody Thursday, September 4, 2014.

Houston’s charges include three counts of unlawful delivery of cocaine, less than one gram, and two counts of unlawful delivery of cocaine within 1,000 feet of Merrill Elementary School, less than one gram, Chavira said.

Police said the charges stemmed from an investigation that was conducted from March 2014 to August 2014.

Houston was held in the Whiteside County Jail.
