Scott County Attorney Mike Walton says that two Davenport officers were justified in an officer involved shooting that happened back on August 13, 2014. The shooting killed 61 year-old Alvin Jennings.

Walton held a press conference about the shooting Wednesday, September 3, 2014. Walton says that two officers fired a total of seven shots on August 13, after there were reports of a man threatening another man with a knife.

Wednesday, officials said that both officers felt like they needed to use 'deadly force' because Jennings approached them, once they entered the home. Scott County Sheriff deputies also say that Jennings had been arrested once before for 'disorderly conduct' in 2012.

Davenport Police Chief Frank Donchez says that both officers will be 're-instated,' but there is no word when that will happen.
