Area schools dismiss early Thursday, Sept. 4 due to heat

Some area schools will be dismissing early Thursday, September 4, 2014 due to heat.

All non-air conditioned schools in Moline will release two hours early, said Dr. David Moyer, the district superintendent.  Bicentennial, Deere, Roosevelt, and Wilson will complete normally scheduled days.  Jefferson PM early childhood and all after school YMCA programs are cancelled.

The superintendent of East Moline schools, Kristin Humphries, said schools will be dismissing an hour-and-a-half early Thursday. There will be no afternoon preschool.
