Eastbound lanes of River Drive were closed for about a half-hour after a wreck involving an overturned car.
Police said a 2006 Chevrolet Impala was westbound on Grant Street when the driver traveled over the traffic island at 6th Street, near Martha's Point, and the car overturned just before 9:30 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 2014.
The car came to rest upside-down, blocking the eastbound lanes of River Drive.
Firefighters pulled the driver, a 53-year-old man from Bettendorf, from the overturned car. He was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
Police said the driver was wearing a seat belt at the time of the wreck.
Police said no other vehicles were involved.
