Davenport's Levee Improvement Commission denied the lease agreement for the new Dock development on Tuesday, August 26, 2014.

The commission held a special meeting on the Dock development Tuesday. The commission is concerned with developers building an elevated walkway into the site. That would allow people to get to the restaurant and office space, if it floods.

"We are confident that we can jointly design and provide 365, 24/7 access that is both cost effective, functional, and pleasing to the eye," developer Todd Raufeisen recently said.

The land lease agreement is now back in the hands of the Davenport City Council. They will consider approving the agreement at their meeting on Wednesday, August 27, 2014. The meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall.
