Storms leave behind damage and power outages in Morrison

Schools cancelled classes as residents worked to recover from storms that knocked down trees and knocked out power in Morrison, Illinois.

Storms that pushed through the area during the afternoon and evening Monday, August 25, 2014, included hail, heavy rain and high winds.

Trees and power lines were downed, and power was knocked out for hundreds of homes and businesses in the area.

Schools cancelled classes as power outages were still scattered in the Morrison area Tuesday, August 26.

Cleanup was underway and many residents reported power was restored before noon Tuesday.
