The new Sam’s Club store opened in Moline on Wednesday, August 20, 2014.

The store currently has dozens of TVs on display throughout it. There also food vendors inside that will be giving out free samples to people for the opening weekend.

The building is more than 130,000 square feet. It is bringing in about 170 new jobs to the community. The manager says that the new Sam’s Club could keep Illinois residents from having to go to Iowa, to shop at that Sam’s Club.

“This was a great opportunity for us to bring a Sam’s Club to this side of the river, so the community here could have their own Sam’s Club, and we could service more members to the Quad City area,” Manager Aaron Greene said.

The Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday for the new business. It is located at 6600 John Deere Road.
