A man has been placed on escape status after failing to return to a Davenport work release facility.

A statement from the Department of Corrections said that on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, 29-year-old Randy Paul Doss never returned to the facility after an authorized appointment to update his sex offender registry status.

Doss was serving a lifetime sex offender special sentence that followed a sentence for third degree sex abuse, the statement said. In July of 2012, Doss was released from the Mount Pleasant Correctional Facility and in May of 2014 he was sent to the Davenport Work Release Facility.

Doss is described as Caucasian with brown hair, hazel eyes, is about 6-feet, 2-inches tall, and weighs 217 pounds.

If you have any information on Doss’ whereabouts, you are asked to contact the Davenport Police Department or the Scott County Sheriff’s Department.
