Nighttime drivers will experience brief closures on John Deere Road in Moline due to a construction project.

Beginning Monday evening, August 18, 2014 workers from McCarthy Improvement Company planned to start setting beams for the new bridge over John Deere Road near 38th Street. Work will be done between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. the following morning.

As beams are being placed, all lanes on the roadway will be completely closed for 20 minutes at a time. After each beam is placed drivers will be allowed to pass under the structure before the next 20 minute closure.

Work is expected to continue each night through Thursday, until all beams have been placed.

The new bridge, set east of I-74, is part of the $16.2 million project to make improvements to the 38th Street intersection and make the overpass over John Deere Road.
