Illinois' smoking ban is expanding.
On Saturday, August 16th, 2014, Governor Pat Quinn signed the Smoke-Free Campus act into law. The law bans both indoor and outdoor smoking at public colleges and universities starting July 1st, 2015.
16 other states, including Iowa, also have smoke-free policies in place at their state-supported schools.
Also on Saturday, Governor Quinn signed legislation that restricts the display of e-cigarettes. Starting January 1st, 2015, the products have to be sold behind a counter in an age-restricted area or sealed case just like regular cigarettes.
