Tony Hawk visits Davenport

Skateboarding legend Tony Hawk came to Davenport for a visit at the skate park.

As part of their summer tour, Hawk and his team stopped in Davenport Saturday, August 16, 2014. It gave fans a chance to see some of the most talented skateboarders perform at what organizers say are the Midwest’s finest skate parks.

“It’s such an individual sport and expression,” said tour manager Steve Pearlman. “These guys are always trying new tricks and if they land a trick and they seem to get it down, then maybe they'll try a switch. Which is trying it goofy foot of different variations the same trick."

Hawk and his team were set to travel to Minneapolis Sunday, August 17.
