Drivers will see some road closures as a kids’ triathlon series hits Bettendorf.

The Hy-Vee Kids Triathlon will be held at the Bettendorf YMCA starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, August 16. That means that for a few hours drivers may see their usual routes closed.

A section of Devils Glen Road from Tanglefoot Lane to 53rd Street will be closed to northbound traffic before the race until 10 a.m. All southbound traffic will flow normally.

A section of Tanglefoot Lane from Devils Glen Road to Tanglewood Hills Drive will be closed to traffic before the race until 10:30 a.m.

Anyone visiting Crow Creek Park will have access off Devils Glen Road, which is the northernmost entrance.

Customers visiting Lawn’s Unlimited will have access off Middle Road to Tanglewood Drive. The business will also be accessible from Devils Glen Road as there are gaps between bicyclists.

Access to Geneses Urgent Care will be able to get there from Middle Road to Tanglewood Drive. Access will also be available from Devils Glen Road as there are gaps between bicyclists.

The triathlon is a classic swim-bike-run format with distances based on the participants’ ages. The race is open to boys and girls ages 6 – 15.
