Jewel-Osco experienced a security breach and affected customers are now being offered free identity protection services.
A statement from Jewel-Osco said that sometime between June 22, 2014 and July 17, 2014 the store’s parent company, AB Acquisition LLC, experienced “an unlawful intrusion to obtain credit and debit card payment information.”
An investigation into the matter is being conducted and the company has not determined that any customer data was indeed stolen; “currently it has no evidence of any misuse of such data.”
Because of the incident, AB Acquisition LLC is offering customers impacted by the breach free consumer identity protection services.
