Driver airlifted after pickup and car collide in Scott County

The driver of a car was airlifted to a hospital after a crash involving a pickup truck in rural central Scott County, Iowa.

The driver of a car was airlifted to a hospital after a crash involving a pickup truck in rural central Scott County, Iowa.

Police said a southbound 1999 Mercury pulled out from the stop sign at 170th Street, to make the left turn onto eastbound St. Anne’s Road, when the wreck happened at about 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2014.

The car was struck by a westbound 2011 Ford F150 pickup truck on St. Anne’s Road.

Police said the speed limit on St. Anne’s Road is 55 miles per hour at the crash location.

The driver of the car was taken to a hospital by helicopter ambulance.  The driver of the pickup truck was taken to a hospital by ground ambulance.
