After complaints of damage to homes, businesses, vehicles and other property, police say they arrested two people for allegedly driving around Moline and randomly firing a BB gun.

Twenty-year-old Austin Taets of Coal Valley, and 18-year-old Ethan Kiely of Moline, were each charged with two felony counts of criminal damage to property according to a spokesman for the Moline Police Department.

Taets and Kiely were accused of being in a vehicle with two other juvenile boys, “driving around the city shooting out windows with a BB gun and causing other damage to property,” the spokesman said.

Police were continuing to receive complaints from home and business owners who said vehicles, windows and other property were damaged.

It was not yet clear whether the reports were connected to reports of shots fired at vehicles in Moline and in Davenport after dark Sunday, August 10, 2014.
