The cities that make up the Quad Cities are aligning together for the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce. The commerce announced its new vision for the future, on Wednesday, August 6, 2014.
The chamber would like to bring people from both states together, in order to help one another out. Representatives from more than 140 different businesses and government agencies, in both Iowa and Illinois, attended the chamber breakfast Wednesday at the Waterfront Convention Center in Bettendorf.
The chamber wants to create a 'cool, creative and prosperous' Quad Cities. The chamber will hold brainstorming sessions on how to make the area a better place to live and work for future generations. Organizers say it's time to for people to start thinking about how each of the individual cities, can align together, instead of separately.
Chamber member, and Estes Construction President Kent Pilcher, commended the city of Rock Island for how it has handled the Bituminous situation. On July 30 2014, it became apparent that the company planned on moving its business to Davenport.
