Previous reports indicate that the new Rock Island police station will be double the size of the old facility.  The city council decided on the new facility when they found out that more remodeling and expanding of the old facility, which was built in 1940, would not be possible.

The construction began Wednesday, July 16, 2014 and is expected to be finished in December of 2015.

The webcam was installed in conjunction with Gilbane/Valley.
