How you can register for local politicians’ campaign fundraisers

Two Republican politicians will be in the Quad City area to help local candidates with their campaigns.

Texas Governor Rick Perry will be headlining a fundraiser Sunday, August 10, 2014 for Republican candidate Brian Schmidt. Schmidt is running for Iowa Senate.

“I am honored and excited to welcome Governor Perry to our great state,” said Schmidt. “Texas has been a leader in economic growth under Governor Perry’s leadership, and I look forward to hearing his thoughts on many issues on the forefront of voters’ minds this election season.”

The fundraiser was scheduled to be held at the Campbell Farms Bin Site, which is a half-mile west of Grand Mound, Iowa. The gates will open at noon and lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m.

Attendees are asked to register in advance. Click here for the registration form. The form will need to be printed, filled out and mailed to the address listed on the form.

Also coming to the QC area is House Speaker John Boehner.

Boehner was scheduled to be in Colona, Illinois Monday, August 11, 2014 to help raise money for Bobby Schilling’s campaign.

Schilling will be running against Rep. Cheri Bustos for the 17th District congressional seat. The two previously ran against each other back in 2012.

Rep. Boehner will speak at the fundraiser at 11:30 a.m. at Lavender Crest Winery located at 5401 US 6, Colona. Tickets cost $100 per person or $200 per person premium seating.
