A child has died from injuries she sustained when she was hit by a vehicle.
Police Chief Jason Foy said the four-year-old victim and her mother were crossing 31st Avenue in Rock Island on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 when a westbound vehicle hit them. The crash happened around 12:30 p.m., Foy said, and was just west of where 31st Avenue intersects with 11th Street.
Previous reports indicate that the child, Maddi Boultinghouse, and her mother were out shopping for school supplies when the car struck them.
On Tuesday, August 5 the Peoria County Coroner's Office said that the child had succumbed to her injuries.
Police say no traffic or criminal charges are being filed.
