Construction workers were continuing the progress as they worked to widen Utica Ridge Road in Bettendorf.

Beginning Monday, August 4, 2014, traffic was set to be routed onto the new pavement on the west side of Utica Ridge Road so that workers could complete pavement on the east side.

Southbound Utica Ridge Road is closed and drivers will have to use the detour. There will only be one-way traffic heading northbound.

The project began in early May 2014. The plan was to widen the roadway to five lanes from Spruce Hills Drive to Tanglefoot Lane.

According to the City of Bettendorf, this part of the project is phase 2, and there will be no access to Golden Valley Drive from the east.

Workers were set to reconstruct the middle of Utica Ridge Road during a third phase of the project.
